When I first moved to Canada I arrived just in time for an extraordinarily cold and snowy winter in Vancouver. An artic front was about to blow in and take us to -15°C/5°F and though it brought me my first white Christmas (that I can recall in adulthood) I knew none of my shoes were going to get me through my first winter in Canada.

For the past few years knitted bottoms have been dominating the ultimate winter girly look.
